Here are some of the top metal roofing myths uncoveredā¦
Noise: Metal roofing is often quieter than an asphalt shingle roof. When installed with solid sheathing, a metal roof on your home will silence noise from rain, hail and bad weather, much better than other roofing materials.
Rust: Because itās made from aluminum, Interlock roofing products will not rust.
Dents: Metal roofing can take decades of abuse from extreme weather.
Walk-ability: The truth is that you can safely walk any metal roof without damaging it. Before you walk your roof, however, we recommend you talk to your installer first to get the details on how to walk on your particular roof. And, make sure that you donāt get on the roof when it wet, as moisture will make the roof surface slippery.
Snow: Snow slides off metal roofing. Depending upon the slope of your roof and your geographical location, you may wish to consider the use of snow guards. Colour coded snow guards are available to match your roof and to protect walkways and property from unwanted snowfall, where such an occurrence is undesirable.
Lightning: A metal roof will absolutely not increase the likelihood of lightning striking your home, since metal roofing isnāt combustible or flammable. If your home were hit by lightning, your metal roof would disperse the energy charge safely throughout the structure. |

John,
I would like to thank you for the excellent work you did in providing us with this wonderful permanent 'antique copper-look' roof. Although the roof itself was more expensive than a conventional asphalt shingle roof, we are really noticing the difference. This shows up both in appearance (it looks like a million bucks!) and also with insulation, durability and what I think will be our last roof for this home! I know you worked hard in convincing us of all these benefits. Again, I just wanted to say 'thanks for a job well done'. We are thoroughly happy with Maritime Permanent Roofing Ltd. and the services behind it's products. By the way, your installers were professional, prompt and left the place in a tidy fashion. This is more than we can say for many Companies in Nova Scotia.
Should you wish to have any "doubting" clients contact us for references....please do not hesitate.
Take care and best regards,
Chas
