New Slate styled aluminum roofing has the look of traditional slate roofing without the heavy weight.

Sept. 17 / PRNewswire / -- Interlock Industries, Inc. has announced the introduction of an aluminum slate roofing system.

press-release-slate-roofing.jpg

According to Mark Vance, Director of Marketing - The Interlock Group - the aluminum slate "is designed to appeal to those who want the elegance and longevity of a slate style roof without having to deal with the heavy weight of traditional slate products. In many cases, this roofing can be installed directly over top of an existing roof, saving the costs of tear off and the environmental problems associated with disposal. We are extremely excited to offer this product to homeowners. Our initial response in the New York market has been excellent."

Addressed to: Popular Mechanics

I have read your recent issue which included a section about roofing materials. I was surprised your excellent publication did not include information about aluminum metal roofs in that section. We recently had one installed and are quite pleased with the appearance. Our roof was installed by Interlock Industries, based in Vancouver. Their shingles come in many colors and somewhat resemble the look of an asphalt shingle roof.

However, unlike asphalt shingle and other roofing types, our roof has a lifetime, non-prorated, fully transferable factory warranty. It is fireproof, rot proof, energy efficient and can withstand winds in excess of 100mph.

The cost per square foot is more expensive than asphalt shingle but not much more expensive than a 30 year warranted asphalt roof.

Much has been written concerning the rapid deterioration of today's asphalt roofs and I would suspect your readers would be interested in learning more. And, no, we don't hear "pitter patter" when it rains!

UL Certification 2218 Class 4 - A Milestone for Metal Roofing.

Interlock Roofing Ltd. announces the successful completion of benchmark tests meeting the standard of Underwriters Laboratory Standard 2218 Class 4, Impact Standard for Impact Resistance of Prepared Roof Covering Materials.

UL

According to Gordon Warren, Product Manager, surpassing this quality standard is milestone for endurance that all manufacturers of quality metal roofing components hope to achieve. We have invested tremendous efforts to ensure our products can deal with all kinds of impact resistance scenarios, including hail. This ruling applies to three of our key product profiles… shingle, shake and tile. Our team is most pleased to present our products to the public with the assurances that UL 2218 confirms. Some homeowners with metal roofing systems meeting UL 2218 can actually qualify for deductions on their homeowners insurance.

Dear Keith;

Thank you for showing us samples of the roofing materials and colors that were available. The steel grey we choose looks fantastic on the house. I would recommend this type of roof to anyone looking for a new roof.

Interlock Roofing is the best! The crew that installed the roof was very polite. They worked very hard to get the job done and they cleaned up the area at the end of the day. I'll never have to worry about putting another roof on this house again. I can honestly say Interlock roofing is the best investment anyone can make.

Thank you,
Robert and Elizabeth Keyes

I recently had your Interlock Roofing System installed on our home. I am pleased to say that I am very happy with it and have gotten many compliments on how nice it looks. The InterLock Roofing System has a Lifetime Guarantee on it for the Owner of the home. It can also be transferred to the next owner for up to fifty years, which makes it an attractive offer for the next owner, not having to worry about the roof and any problems that arise with the InterLock System.

The Interlock Roofing System is a very reliable product and I would highly recommend it to others, as it stands up to high winds, harsh winters and is a very durable product. I especially like the ice cleats that help break up the snow load as it comes off the roof, as it helps protect the deck below and vehicles. The Interlock System is also good in the case of a fire of the surrounding area, so the roof is not easily able to catch fire from flying embers and such. The material is lightweight and doesn't add extra pressure to the current roof joists and comes in many different colors and styles.

I'm a sheet metal worker and work with all sorts of metals on a daily basis. I see the Interlock System as a highly flexible and durable product and will recommend it to anyone who is building a new home or just wanting to replace their current roofing system.

Sincerely,

Dear Sir:

This past Fall I began soliciting bids for stripping off two layers of shingles on my 23-year old shingle family home and replacing the "worn" shingles with a new layer of fiberglass shingle. You may ask, since the home was "only" 23 years old, why there was already two layers of shingles and how come the top layer was now in need of replacement! Believe me, I was asking the same questions. Granted, we had not paid (directly) for either layer of shingle since they both were on the home when we purchased it, but it was still a concern of mine with respect to the fiberglass shingle industry.

My wife and I have owned this home for nine years and, when we initially moved in, we had the home vinyl-sided and replaced most of the windows with energy efficient, up-and-down windows as opposed to the then crank-out windows. The then existing roof shingles had excellent curl-appeal when viewed against the newly installed vinyl siding and window shutters, so much so that passersby thought we had the roof re-shingled as well.

So, in our search for new shingle, we sought out a shingle that would have that same curb appeal as well as longevity. Well, we could not find anything that came close to providing us with the idea that, "Yeah, this one will look great on our home and last a long time."

This Spring I responded to a newspaper advertisement I'd seen and a mailing that I received regarding the installation of a metal roof. Certainly, installation of a metal roof in our "neck of the woods," where there is some pricey real estate, was something of an oddity. However, I did some research on metal roofs over the Internet and found myself intrigued and please by what I read.

My wife and I met with Interlock Industries, Inc. sales representative Gerry Matta, and he explained the concept and longevity of a metal roof, its energy-savings benefit, and more specifically, showed us the colors and Interlock design afforded by their product known on the internet as maritimepermanentroofing.com.

After hearing the sales presentation, my wife and I were intent on seeing two homes within 20 miles of our home that had the same color metal roof we anticipated purchasing for our home. Let me tell you, after viewing the exterior of those homes, we definitely had made up our minds that we were going to be the first in our neighborhood with an Interlock shingle metal roof because it was going to afford us with fabulous curb appeal for our home.

Well, now that the stripping off of the deteriorating fiberglass shingles and the installation of the "tile red" Interlock shingle has been completed, our home is now a showcase for the metal roof industry.

We have had numerous compliments from family and neighbors regarding the beauty of the home with the new Interlock shingle installed. We have had many vehicles pass roadside and slow down to view our home and several inquiries form those motorists as to where we obtained the beautiful roof.

Thank you to Interlock Industries, Inc. for creating a product that allows my family to have the satisfaction to know that we will never have to replace roof shingles again, will save money on yearly heating and cooling bills, and, more importantly, have a home that truly has a dynamic curb appeal. It's just beautiful!! Thanks again,
